Multidirectional Scarf.......................... My First attempt at the multidirectional scarf.... It is an interesting pattern but one that I have to make sure I am on the right row at all times... I had to do the first triangle twice because I was " talking" and miss counted my rows... :(
But it is coming out nice now and I am already "Thinking" Baby Blanket... So I guess that is where this multidirectionaal road is going to take me eventually... On the Road to Making a Multidirectional Baby Blanket :)
You can join this group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/multidirectional/
Natalies Sweater.................. Take a look at the right front of the sweater on the bottom...
I restarted this half using yarn that I had started a part of the sweater with weeks ago but ripped it out because it was the wrong size that I was doing... Anyway when I rewound it the yarn had little " curlys" in it.. Then when I did the front it shows up "funny" in the knitting...
I saw it right away but I thought that after a while it would conform to the fabric...
However as you can see .. its still there... Do you think that if I steamed it lightly it would smooth out that spot there???
Or do you have any other suggestions besides redoing the WHOLE half of the front... No.. No Don't say that.. I want to get this sweater done already!!!!
RAIN in The Horizon ???????................. Looking out this morning I could see rain on its way... We desperately need some rain here in Florida to help get some of the fires out.... The ground is so dry that they just can not get them stopped... The air is filled with smoke and you can smell it... We live quite a way from it .. so I can imagine how awful it must be for the people who are right near it... RAIN... RAIN..... Pour Down on Your People!!!! :)

Hummmmmmmm???? It looks as tho Now I have Lost My Buttons.. I don't see them on the sidebar..... Oh Gosh... This Blogging can be frustrating... humpf !!!!

Well... Anyway.. Today I stopped at a Local Second Hand store and look what I got fo $4.00..
Wahoooooooo.... 2 Kitchen Cottons...
1 Peaches N Cream..... 3 Saucy Sport.. 1 Santos Aran... and a Pink Pound of Love...
Knit Book.. Cross Stitch Book because I love the cover stitch...
and 4 see thru zipper case to put my Knit tools in .. One for each project bag...
Pretty Good Deal... huh ? :)
FROGGED
Last night I discovered that I was doing something wrong in my lacy dress design... so I ripped it out back to the 6th row..... Then I decided that it was coming out way to WIDE for the size dress that I wanted..
This is an older pattern and it calls for Botney Win-Sport.. 7 stitches =1inch on #4 needles..
Well.. I am using J&P Coats Luster sheen cotton thread and I thought it would be thin enough but why does it look so wide...
So I FROGGED the whole thing this morning..
Then I did a swatch.. yes, you heard me.. I DID A SWATCH... now this is something that I very rarely do... Anyway... I did one with a #3 needle and one with a #2 needle and they BOTH came out the same... Now.. What is the purpose of a SWATCH ???? I still have to "guess" which needle to use now... So they both look like 7 stitches to the inch... Now that means the dress should come out the correct size this time... RIGHT?????
Well... This is my venture for this evening.... I'll be starting My Amazing Lace all over again from the beginning.... Wish me Luck !!!

Knitting :)

Today was our Knitting Day at Paneras....
This is Marilyn .... It was chilly in our room today and I was showing My capelet that I made last year.. Marilyn tried it on and kept it on because it was so cozy in the airconditioning...
After knitting we went to Lunch and to JoAnns where Marilyn bought some Homespun so I can teach her how to make a Capelet for herself... :) She is new to the Knitting World and is catching on very well.. I think she will be able to make one of these with no problem..
Its so much Fun to recruit new knitters and watch them enjoy their accomplishments!!!!
What Fun!!!
Bird

Yesterday after Bob and I washed and waxed the Van..
I sat in Bobs Sons Backyard knitting while Bob did some fishing...
Then along came a little birdie to check out my knitting... Hummmm???? Do you think he thought that my yarn was a bag of worms ???? :)

Natalies Sweater

These are the Projects I started this week :)

I know... I know.... Three more??? I just can't be Happy working on one thing at a Time !!!
This is for My Grandaughter Natalie if I ever get it done ...
As you can see I am using Simply Soft... one of my favorite yarns...
I am doing the size 11 and I had to change the bottom a bit so that it would not roll up....
I added an extra row of garter stitch to do that!!! Simple!!
Projects

Here is a VERY SOFT CUDDLY sweater done in Be Mine Yarn... Ohhhhhhhh I just LOVE this stuff.... It is as soft as buttercream..
And.. Yes.. I am also changing this pattern a bit too... First I am making it shorter and then I am making the neck wider... Hope my " adjustments" work out........
I am also "Thinking" of putting a Flower on the front... I'll go thru my stash and see what colors will work... :)

A VERY cute Sweater, right ?
I am again using Simply Soft in two colors... I really like the way it is working out. The pattern takes some concentration so I do some " mindless" knitting.. in between....Like the back of Natalies Sweater ..
This is for My Daughter Aprils Friend... Little Ellafor her Birthday ( which has already passed)...Oh Well.. Creativity does take Time !!!!
It all started because I mentioned some dinasore buttons that I have... They will be adorning the front of the Sweater... Ella LOVES them :)

Color Me Happy !

Here is the Baby Sweater for My Daughters Friend who is having a Baby..
April requested there colors... So this is what I came up with... :)

I did it in the stripe sequence explained in Mag Knits..http://www.magknits.com/chilly04/patterns/fib.htm
I had to shorten my numbers because I did not want the stripes any wider.. So I did 2- 2- 4..
I think it workd out very well.. This way the colors " shift" and each one gets a wide and a narrow stripe... The colors are Red.. Black .. Gold and Green.. I used wool ease worsted weight...
Its a very " Happy Sweater".... Right !

Periwinkle Sweater

Finished the Periwinkle sweater... :)

I am very satisfied with the yarn.. It is Caron Wintuck and it knitted up very nicely .. It feels nice and cozy on and I love the color!
I did a few changes to the pattern along the way!
First I made it about one inch shorter because it is a Ladies Small but it is for a ten Year Old !!! ( My Grandaughter Allie )
Then I made a buttonband instead of a zipper.. Just because that is ny preference!!!.. Actually I did not want to have to sew in a zipper .. LOL and besides.. Where would I find a Periwinkle Zipper anyway!!!
Then instead of binding off in the rib pattern on the collar.. I did a crochet bind off and did a three stitch crochet over the drop stitch rib to give the collar more of a " swing" to it..
I liked this pattern and I will no doubt do another one......
Below is a close up of the beads that I knitted in .. I put them in all the places where there are Ribs...

I just made This Sweater for Paige... My almost Two and 1/2 Year old Grandaughter.......
The Pattern is from one of The Bouton d' Or Books that I have...
I used some Bernart Chunky Yarn for the Cream Part and then I had some left over yarn from The " Snug As a Bug " Sweater so I used that for the Trims...
The Whole Sweater is Really " Soft n Cozy"
Paige will Love it :)
When she wears my Knitted or sewn clothes.. She always tells people
" Grandma Made it "....LOL
I guess she is one of my Biggest " Fans" :)

Sweater

I just started this Sweater for My Grandaughter...
It is from Interweave Knits Fall 2005...................
Her favorite color is Periwinkle so that is what I chose... I decided to "Jazz" it up a bit and knitted some beads into the Rib.. I will be knitting beads into all the Ribs because they are nice wide 4 inch Ribs...
The yarn ????? You ask !!!!!............ Oh .. Thats just Caron...........But it is working up real nice !!!
