Grey Ones

And yet Another pair of Wristwarmers.... This pair is Grey like the first pair I made..
My Daughter has a black jacket and asked for a pair..We talked about Camel color and black and grey.. I THINK she said Camel color but then I remembered that I have this beautiful grey aplaca just waiting to become a scarf.. So I thought I would make her the grey Woolease warmers and do a scarf with the grey alpaca.... :)

Fair Isle

Playing around with My De' a' tricot....... or My Knitting Thimble in English :)
How's My French..Isabelle ????

There are no directions with it so looking at the pitcure it should be simple to follow, right??? Well.. I put it on like the picture but it was the wrong hand for me.. I don't knit with that hand so I assume you put it on the "working" neelde hand... It take s little getting used to but I think maybe its good.. It keeps the yarn from getting tangled and the yarn is all on one finger.. Sometimes when I do two colors I put one color in each hand and work with the two fingers... Both Hands.. But this might be easier when I get the hang of it :)
Hat

Yes... Another Hat..... I used some yarn from my Stash and This Pattern.....
I was happy with the color change rows the way they say that when you change a color in a rib stitch to knit the new color.. do not rib it... this way you have a better looking color change row where the purl stitches are.. It doesn't make any difference in the rib pattern and it makes the purl stitch in the first color row look so much better... very pleased with this little tidbit of information :)
Hoodie

Casted On last night for The Central Park Hoodie....
I'm using some woolease that I had up in My Stash...
Do you notice that I am using some of my Hoarded Stash !!!! This yarn I probably have had for about 4 Years now....LOL.. Its a very pretty heather like Green but I don't know the name because the label is gone... It just has a white wrapper on it ...
There is a KAL for this Sweater if you are interested :)

Close Up

I tried to show you the colorway in the hat but it still is not very clear... But you can see some of the Navy , Right?

Completed a Set of Wristwarmers and Cable Hat.. This will be a Christmas Gift for one of Our Jersey Girls...
The yarn used is the Simply Soft Caron Shadows in Fucshia Flare... It has an interesting tone of Reds and Navy when knitted up..... This stuff is really soft.
Bob was taking the photo just a while ago and I saw my neighbors coming down the road so I said..." Hurry Up"... I didn't want them to see me but it was Too late... He got out of the truck and said.... " Do you have gloves on ?"..LOL I had already ripped the hat off.... They always tease me because I am cold but ...No..It was not that Cold today.. Maybe about 69 degrees.. Not quite Cold enough for a Hat and Wristwarmers ...

My Trade

Look What The mailman brought me yesterday :)

I traded the Two skeins of Noro that I had left for some more Cotton Fleece.... Mandy was so nice to send me three skeins... I LOve the colors... I have been hoarding up some cotton fleece for a while now.. I picked up a few odd colors from some "Sale Bins" and now I have enough to make a cute blanket or something ???Besides these three( sage ,wisteria and lavender).. I have several skeins of Pink and one blue..one light sage and a purple... So now I have a nice collection of colors... I will be packing these up to take to Florida with me...
Oh.. Now Thats another Story !!!!
I am TRYING so hard to limit my Yarn stash that will be traveling with me.. But I am having a difficult time ... Its not easy to leave my stash Home Alone for the whole Winter :(
I just went thru some yarn and I already have a big pile...
I'm thinking that MAYBE I will just take my time and pack "projects" instead of just randomly bagging up YARN... That is the Sensible thing to do, Right ???? Hummmmmmm... Well.. Tomorrow I will redo my first pile ...

Its a Rainy Gloomy Chilly Day Today... Not My Cup of Tea !!!!

I did a few errands this morning , came home and had lunch .. Then I said Maybe I would take a ride to Michaels... Being that the mailman just gave me a 50% off Coupon for Michaels... :)
I got Lazy and went surfing on this Darn Machine here and it is now 4:15 and my fingers are still tapping these Keys .... Soooooooo I guess my Trip to M. is not going to be today... I guess its just as well as I was there on Sunday and managed to buy yarn that I REALLY needed... Actually I did start knitting with it right away.. I am working on some more wristwarmers and matching hats for Gifts !!! So Thats A Good Thing !!!!
Well.. Just thought I would pop in and Say " Hi"..... I think I'll go knit a few rounds before Dinner :)

Noro Hat

Made a Hat with the Noro yarn... This is The Pattern..
I used one skein of the Noro.. If I was to do this pattern again I would do less cast on stitches.. It seemed a bit wide to me.. I like a "snugger" fit....And I would make the hat more than the said 5 inches before decreases... Maybe I would do about 6 inches and then decrease.. I like a " longer" hat so it covers my ears...
The hat will probably go to one of My grandaughters in Buffalo where it is cold..
I have Two more skeins of The Noro which I would like to trade for some Brown Sheep Cotton Fleeece... If anyone is interested Please let me know.... I have some of it now and I wnat to do a Baby Blanket with them... I am more of a Cotton Gal than a Wool Wearer...
The Noro is alos great for felting.. which I am not into ( at this time )..
Anyway.. If you have some B.S. Cotton Fleece... Leave your email or email me :)

Well.. I got My Trade for the Cotton Fleece.... Thanks Mandy :)
Blankie

Finished The Blankie Friday....
It looks small in the photo but it actually measures to be 62 inches by 38 inches... Sounds like an odd size but it will " Wrap" nicely around Baby :)
I had no size in mind when I started.. I just worked until I ran out of yarn....

I have been getting requests for My Blankie Pattern... So This is what I did ...
It is Crocheted.. I chained about 120 stitches...
The I skipped two chains and Double Twice crocheted in next chain...
Then I skipped a chain and did Two Double Crochet in next chain... *Skip a chain and do two double crochet in next chain...*Repeat across..Chain 2 and turn..
Repeat first row making the two double crochet above the skipped chain of the row below...
Just so the skipped spaces are not on top of each other...

Thats it... Two DC..skip chain stitch ..Two dc..... Simple...Right
It make a nice stitch for the Boucle yarn because it doesn't need anything fancy.. And its a Nice Soft Stitch :)
Have Fun!!!

$$$$$$$ :)

Went to Sears today to pay off my Credit Card and since that left my credit card EMPTY... I thought the proper thing to do was to make a STOP at the Yarn Shop on the way back...
Looky at the Goodies I got... Two Magazines... and a skein of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino.... Jaeger cotton DK AND The Last Three skeins of Noro... wahaooooo... The Noro colors are just yummy .. Looking at the photo I realized that I must have been in a certain "Color Wave" today.. The Debbie B. and Jaeger colors match the Noro Colors.
I know I am going South for the Winter so WHAT do I need Noro yarn for??? Well... BECASE it is soooooooooo Pretty and at $4.00 a skein .. How in The World could I NOT grab it ??? I mean.. Thats just against ALL the rules of Knitting survival.... Anyway.. I just had to get my last fix of that yarn shop before I go to Florida in a few weeks..

I think I am going to make myself a cute Hat with the Noro... The Colors will work well in Florida and I can wear it walking on the beach one of those Cool Winter Mornings :) Anyone have a Great hat Pattern I can try??? Its an Aran.. 5 sts = 1 inch and I have 310 yards of it...
Toys

Did I ever show you My New Toys????
I got these in June ... I have a Ball Winder but I left it in Florida so of course I had to get one for here in New York... ( One less thing to drag back and forth, right ? )
Then I figured.. hey... I think I NEED one of those Swifts..... Yup... I needed it... I haven't actually USED it yet but I have PLANS for it.... This I will have to pack with My Florida "STUFF"..
Anyway.. The winders are the bst thing since sliced bread ..... I use that quite alot.. Its such a pleasure to knit from a nicely wound center pull skein and it doesn't get "stuck" while you are working.. Its great to wind little balls for colorwork also.. As I did in a post Below... Then I put them in my Pantyhose holders and throw them in my Knitting Bag!!!
I think you should definately put the Winder on your Christmas Wish List !!! :)

The yarn is a boucle and it works up very Soft. She bought Five Balls and I figured that I would just keep on going until they are used up... I am now on the Fourth Ball... so The End is Near :)
