Shawlette


I got past the Problem on Row 7... Turns out it was not the pattern of course... It was
The " KNITTER"..................... :)
It still takes me a long time to work on it.. Each row is different and sometimes I miss something somewhere and have to Rip it out... I'll do a few rows and pull out a few rows...LOL
But its such a pretty pattern and I love the yarn and the color...
This is my " Brain " wracking week I guess... I have a few things working which are " lacy" patterns.... Soon I will have to go back to the " mindless" knitting before I loose My Mind in these lace directions !
Mary.. Are you going to join me in this venture ?????

Shawlette


Has anyone tried the Shawlette from IK Summer ???
I picked up this lovely soft yarn and wanted to make this shawlette but now on Row 7 I am having a problem with the 19 st pattern.. I have 20 sts ?????????
I am going to look and see if there is an errata page for this pattern.
I put it aside because I am not feeling well today and could not deal with the problem :(
Maybe Tomorrow !

Cotton Top


Because I had a problem with the shawlette pattern I decided to cast on something else...
This is a cotton top which will be for " Me"... Now isn't that nice ? Its going along pretty well..

I just LOVE them now that I decided to put a little tie on them..
For those of you who have already made them and also think they are Big... Just do the same.. They look so cute this way :)

UGH Bootie


The UGH Bootie :)
It came out larger than I wanted and I did the small size using the same yarn they called for.. The Berocco Suede... It is actually a pretty Orange color.
I think if you were to follow the pattern for a pair...... You should try using a smaller needle than a 5..................... If I do another pair that is what I will do.
I started and almost finished the second one today in the Laundromat !
They really are so cute !

Eskimo Booties


I don't know if you remember The Eskimo Sweater that I made a while back...
It is down some where in one of the other posts here ..



Anyway.. These are Booties to go with it...
Its a different Aran yarn because the yarn for the sweater is in My Florida Stash ... :)
But I think they will be alright !
I had a hard time trying to take a photo of these little guys... I don't know if it is the color or what but all the pictures were so Bright and I had to keep taking more... But you can see them pretty good in this one..

Whikle I was sitting in the Waiting Room "Waiting" for Bob to finish his stress test this morning I finished my baby Sock !!!
When we went back in the Afternoon for the second half of the test..I started the second one :)

He Finished the test O.K. and I finished My Sock :)

So What am I doing now ???
Well.. I decide to finally do this sock pattern that I wanted to try for a while..
yesterday I casted on and knit about 30 rows and decided it was too big.. I used a bigger needle becuse the pattern said it was a 6 month size and I wanted a 12 month size...
The first attempt came out too BIG.. so I "frogged it"
Then came the second try with a needle smaller.. Nope... Still too BIG !!!!
I refused to abandon ship... So This morning I casted on again in the needle size which was suggested in the pattern... :)
It still seems big but I'm going to finish it like this...The sock is inside-out right now but I just wanted to show you How I spent my Afternoon...
Sitting in My Yard and knitting this Sock !!!

But.. Lesson learned : This is the first time I did a provisional cast on.... I Loved it :)

Natalies Sweater


Another Project Completed ......... :)
This is My Grandaughter Natalies Sweater... It is a Sirdar Pattern and I used Lilac Simply Soft..
I combined two sizes for this sweater... Using directions for size 7-8 and 9-10 because the pattern called for a DK weight yarn and I used a light worsted... By mixing the sizes I think it will fit her just right.. Natalie is Seven years Old !!! ((( Hum??? Now I hope Grandma is right about her age) Its so hard to keep up with them, they are growing so Fast!!!
I wanted you to see the edging so I put the shirt under it... This was the first time I did the edge and it worked out well...
My Friends Dorethea and Evelyn picked me up yesterday to go to Lunch and to A.C. Moore....
I knitted in the car during the tripo so I could finish up this sweater....
My Plan was to get this done Sooooooooooooo I could buy more Yarn for some New Projects !!!!
LOL.... HUH ??? What did you say????? No.. I don't have too much yarn....They all have their own purpose.. I just have to figure out what that is and then Knit Real Fast!!!

All Right... Now I can show you the Stash Enhancement I did this week... ha ha ha

This Trip was made on Wednesday when I had Lunch with other Knitting Buddies... Diana and Mary!!!
I tell ya.. These girls just get me in trouble all the time... I certainly had no intentions of buying yarn.... even tho we did go to the yarn store.. I was only going to " Browse"
And "Yes" I already have "plans" for this pile of yarn also!!!!!

I used a Buttercup Yellow thin cotton by Lustersheen...
I had it finished for a few days but was trying to get those baby Sweaters done before I attempted to sew the dress together... All in all... The dress went together very well...
Its such a Dainty Little Dress ... Don't ya think ?

Next weekend I need to have Two Baby Gifts and yesterday I went up in the attic to check my sweaters and suddenly realized that I did not bring the right sweaters home here from Florida !!! yikes.... Thats when the Panic Mode set in !!!!! Now What am I going to give ??? Can you imagine that with all the baby things I make I now do not have anything to give for a Gift ??
Ok Ok.... Pick out something from your Favorite Patterns... Fumble my way thru the stash in the attic and come up with something nice to make, right !!
One tiny skein of yarn that I just HAD to use was missing... Oh No !!! I also left THAT in Florida... no ..no... It can't be ... I KNOW I hid that somewhere in my luggage **#@#$%^$#!!!
My Daughter told me to pray this little prayer about ... I lost something that must be Found... After searching for an hour I started to re search saying her prayer... Guess What ?? I FOUND that one tiny skein of yarn !!! :)
OK.. So now.. I need to make Two Gifts in 6 Days !!!!
Last night I plugged in My Turbo needle ( yea, right)... LOL... and this is the First one I started !!! Time for Some Speed Knitting!!!

Its been awhile since I made socks... Sort of had to relearn how to avoid those sharp points on the dpns that just seem to want to stab the heck out of my wrists !!! But I made it thru without too many wounds !!!

Green... Green... Green !!! Spring is Here on Long Island !!!!

The Beginning of a Baby Sock that My Daughter requested...
She asked for " Canned Pea " Green But the closest I had was this lime green... I think its just as pretty !!! April seems to associate her colors with Vegetables.... Maybe because she is a vegetarian ???
Her other Greens are... Frozen Pea Green and Grass Green :)
I have not found them in a yarn color either !!!!

Lacy Baby Dress


Progress on My Amazing Lace Project as of today :)
Here is a quick shot .. remember it still has to be blocked..
I was almost done with the front and came out very short on my stitch count :(... So I had to frog it back to the waisteline.... Now I'll redue the top of the front... Sew the shoulder seams... Block it and then make the sleves.. !!!
I have really stuck to my guns on trying to get this finished even tho my mind keeps wandering on to other projects..... The temptation is almost overwelming.. ha !

So... Our Two Day Stress Test is over for this Season... Thats the Drive from Florida to New York ... Its not one of my Favorite things to do :(
I am a terrible.. nervous passenger... Ask Bob.. He'll tell you... LOL

Anyway.. I got some of what I call " STAK" done... (" Stay Awake.. Nervous.. Knitting " :)
I finished the back of Natalies purple sweater... I'll post a picture soon..
And I did some of my Lacy Baby Dress.... It is really turning out nice !
I have been working my buns off since Sunday trying to clean and dust and get things in order around here... I'm even too pooped to take pictures of my project progress...
Tomorrow..... Tomorrow...... " Its Only A Day Away" !!! :)

I guess my blood has turned into Florida temperature because I have been sooooooooooooooo COLD since we got back... I have been sleeping in my Long Flannel P.J.'s and have 4 blankets on me... When I try to roll over the blankets are so heavy!!! LOL..Bob is not as cold as I am so I guess I am just more " Fragile" :)

The weatherman is promising warmer weather on its way... Some Rain too.. But warmer :)

Friday I have a day planned with two of my Knitting Pals to go to Smileys in Jamica...
The Temptation will be overwelming I am sure but I hope to just get some Baby Yarn that I want for a few Baby things that I have planned... If I only bring a certain amoust of $$$$$ then thats all I can spend because Smileys does not take Credit Cards in the Store !! OK.. Thats My Plan then !!!!

Projects of The Week !!!

These are the Three Projects that I am working on at the moment... Its just too hard for me to stay on one project at a time... :)

First Try
This is the First attempt at making My Lacy Baby Diana Dress...
As you can see in the photo below I was somehow forgetting to do the scallop design every 7th row...
So I frogged it and started over again.. Hopefully I am on the right track now...
