Knit From My Stash !!!
This is something that I really need to do .. I must control this yarn addiction .... I went and bought some yarn today just to get it out of my system for the next nine months.. Then its the KFYOS for me :)
Thanks Wendy for Creating this Great Inspiration for me...
This will also be a New Years Resolution... ummmmmmmmm??? But resolutions are hard for me to keep <> I'll try !!
Here are The Basic Rules :
Knit From Your Stash 2007:
1. The Knit-From-Your-Stash-a-Thon will start January 1, 2007 and run through September 30, 2007 -- a period of nine months.
2. We will not buy any yarn during that period, with the following exceptions:
2.a. "Exceptional "Sales are not to be passed up... What? You think we are made of stone?I mean like those one in a million sales that happen sometimes.. LIke the 11 skeins of Taiki that I got for 99 cents... Now I would have to really be crazy to pass that up, right?
2.b. If someone asks for a specific knitted gift that we really and truly do not have the yarn for, we may buy yarn to knit that gift.
2.c. If we are knitting something and run out of yarn, we may purchase enough to complete the project.
2.d. We each get one "Get Out of Jail Free" card -- we are each allowed to fall off the wagon one time.
3. We are allowed to receive gifts of yarn.
4. Knitting Books and tools are allowed ... " So here starts yet another addiction " Oh Dear !!
I changed # 2a and #4 to my Own Knitting "Personality" :)

Ok.. So " Betty Crocker" I am Not !!!!
This was my attempt at making Oatmeal Cookies... Yes..You heard me right... Oatmeal Cookies !!! Why ?? Don't they look like cookies ??? Ha !
I tried to make the recipe in half..(Thank Goodness) and maybe I missed calculated some of the ingredients... Oh I don't know !!!
Anyway... They sort of melted in the oven into one big huge square cookie and then I tried to cut them apart but then I couldn't get them to come off the cookie tray :) Oh Dear !!! I scraped what I could off with my pancake flipper but this was the final result..
So They are not exactly the sort of "Cookies" to pass around to the Neighbors, huh ?? LOL !!!
All was not lost... Bob calls them Oatmeal Brittle and is eating them anyway!!! What a Guy!!! he never refuses a Cookie.. No matter How Bad they Look... Ha !!!
So I think I need my Daughter Terry and my Niece "Heather" to show me How To Make Cookies... They are the " Betty Crockers" of all time in The Family!!!
Soooooooooooo I Am A Knitter... Not A Baker!!!! <>
As I Promised Myself..... I finished a Scarf for The Red Scarf Project...For those of you who have not heard of the Project.. Here is an explanation...
"The Red Scarf Project, a project of the Orphan Foundation of America, or Orphan.org, collects red (and other unisex-colored) scarves to send in Valentine's Day care packages to college students who have aged out of foster care. These brave young people are going it on their own and trying to improve their lives and the community by attending college. The care packages are welcome tokens of encouragement to young people who otherwise receive little to no mail. "
This is a Cuddly Soft Snuggly baby Blankie that I made this week...
I used Patons D.K ...Look At Me ... yarn in a pretty multi red, orange and yellow verigated ...
I did my own thing using a double seed stitch ... Just gartered the edges and k2 -p2 one row and p2 -k2 the next row, etc !! It came out nice and " squooshie" :)
To Teresa and who asked what size needle I used... Hummmmmmmm??? I think I used a #7....
And DK yarn is a bit bigger that sport yarn... at least I THINK it is ???

Its A Wrap !!!!!
I finished the sweater !!!
After three takes on the sleeves ...I finally figured out How the Heck to get them right.... :)
I took two photos to try and show off the colors better...( My Niece " Heather" " Hi Heather"....Love ya !!!!!).... Well.. She said the color was showing up white instead of Lilac....
Maybe it will show better in one of these Photos ???
This sweater is from one of the "Katina" Baby Books which translates their patterns into English... I made this one in a size 18 months.... Being that " Penny" now has a closet FULL of sweaters to wear as soon as she arrives.. I decided that I had better start making Bigger sweaters now....

I decided to do the sleeves at the same time fo a change and wouldn't ya know it... They were coming out too wide... Now the stitch gauge and size are all correct but I can't see those wide sleeves going on this little sweater.. So I had to start them all over again.. I never had to redo a sleeve when I was doing them one at a tome.. Just because I am doing double the work did I have to start over.... ppfftt !!!!!!!!!
So start them over I did and this time I am doing the sleeves for the size smaller hoping that these will "fit" better....
I don't like when a sweter take s me this long to do because them my fingers start getting "itchy" to work on something else... I'm trying my best to resist the temptation and finish this project first.... Time will tell... :)

I started this sweater a few days ago..... It will be a Wrap sweater.... The turquoise stripe has some sections where it is wider because it has a few dropped stitches along the way to make it look like that.. In person it looks cute... ON the front there was only supposed to be one row of turquoise like the back is... See how it looks wider in the front half??? Well I'm past that point on the second half of the front so thats the way it is going to stay... I think it will look alright when it is all put together, don't you ??? :)

So here is my First Design of an Elf Toe Stocking that My Daughter wanted me to make.....
This one is for "Little Penny"who will be coming from China soon...
I never made a toe like this so it was a bit of a challenge... I tried to keep "notes" of what I was doing as I went along so I can make two more... My notes are a little sloppy so lets see how the next one comes out... That one will be red and white...
I used Red Heart Hokey Pokey for this one and there are little Gingerbread Men and a heart and a tree on the top :)

I am working on this scarf for My Daughter Terry !!! Hi Terry.. How do you like it ???? :)
Its a really pretty design. The pattern is from Garnstudio... One of my Favorite sites.
They also have a very infromative Forum if you have any questions.
I am going to do it in two halves like the heart scarf on Knitty.. Then I will graft it in the center so the design goes the same way on both halves..

Wow... What is it with me and cables lately.. It seems that everything I pick out to make has cables on it...
I was going to start a scarf last night but I didn't like the feel of the yarn I was using so I ripped it out.. Now I have to find some other yarn in my stash ..
This Cold of mine is taking its time to get away from me.... Whats the rule again?? Starve a Cold.. feed a fever or feed a Cold ..starve a fever... Well.. Whatever it is I just can't seem to stop eating yesterday and today... maybe that means I am getting better ? Or does it just mean I am a hog ??? LOL

I think this is the Last Pair of Wristwarmers for a while ... :)
These I made Little for My Three year Old Grandaughter Paige..." Hi Page... Grandma Loves You :) "
I know she will want to wear these like her big Sisters will be wearing...
They came out real cute... Would you like the pattern I made up for them ??? OK
I used worsted weight and #7 needle... Cast on 30 stitches
*K1-P2-K2-P2- K2-P2-k1-P6-k1-P2-K2-p2-K2-P2-K1*
Repeat knitting the knit sts and purling the purl sts each row for 7 rows..
8th Row- repeat row but twist the 6 cable stitches.... ( slip 3 in front and knit 3 , then knit the 3 slipped sts ) I do mine.. The no cable needle way................... Like This....
I did the cable twist row 2 times .. Then I did the pattern for 5 more rows... Then I did a K1 P1 rib for 6 rows and Binded Off :)
When seaming the side don't forget to leave a space for the thumb.. I started just after the rib and left about 1 inch or more ....
These are for a Three Year Old ....

And yet Another pair of Wristwarmers.... This pair is Grey like the first pair I made..
My Daughter has a black jacket and asked for a pair..We talked about Camel color and black and grey.. I THINK she said Camel color but then I remembered that I have this beautiful grey aplaca just waiting to become a scarf.. So I thought I would make her the grey Woolease warmers and do a scarf with the grey alpaca.... :)

Playing around with My De' a' tricot....... or My Knitting Thimble in English :)
How's My French..Isabelle ????
There are no directions with it so looking at the pitcure it should be simple to follow, right??? Well.. I put it on like the picture but it was the wrong hand for me.. I don't knit with that hand so I assume you put it on the "working" neelde hand... It take s little getting used to but I think maybe its good.. It keeps the yarn from getting tangled and the yarn is all on one finger.. Sometimes when I do two colors I put one color in each hand and work with the two fingers... Both Hands.. But this might be easier when I get the hang of it :)
Yes... Another Hat..... I used some yarn from my Stash and This Pattern.....
I was happy with the color change rows the way they say that when you change a color in a rib stitch to knit the new color.. do not rib it... this way you have a better looking color change row where the purl stitches are.. It doesn't make any difference in the rib pattern and it makes the purl stitch in the first color row look so much better... very pleased with this little tidbit of information :)
Casted On last night for The Central Park Hoodie....
I'm using some woolease that I had up in My Stash...
Do you notice that I am using some of my Hoarded Stash !!!! This yarn I probably have had for about 4 Years now....LOL.. Its a very pretty heather like Green but I don't know the name because the label is gone... It just has a white wrapper on it ...
There is a KAL for this Sweater if you are interested :)
